ATZ - Outbreak Part 2

Part 1

 Activation Dice are rolled to start the turn. The zeds score higher, but cannot activate as their Rep is lower than the score of 6. The survivors go first and start to put some distance between themselves and the zeds. Sailor and Lil are Rep 3 so Tonya (Rep 5) covers the rear. Humans can only stack 2 per hex, zeds 4.

After a couple of turns of running Tonya leads them into a large building. In Outbreak, entering buildings are not automatic. After a failure (the noise generated 2 more zeds) the trio entered the building. An Event Card is drawn and 2 zeds generated. Note that the card on the left was leftover from the previous turn - and had generated nothing.

 Combat in the building is quick with a combination of shooting and melee clearing out the zeds. An Event Card is drawn when searching and Tonya gains 1 supplies counter. This is important because at the start of each month, during a campaign, each character must burn 1 supplies or count a -1 to Rep that month.
With lots of zeds closing in, the trio leave the building and head off the map. Next adventure...

ATZ _ Outbreak AAR

NOT the actual components, but the sweet thing is you can use the original game components and with a little tweaking, make it work. Perfect for playing with minis as well. Best of both worlds - keeping in mind I'm a minis player originally.  Not going to bog it down with too much detail, here we go.

Tonya and Lil enter the board. Object is to make it to the other side of the second map.
Event cards are drawn to place initial zeds. The cards tell you if you've met zeds or humans based on the area you are in - rural, suburbs or urban area. Each has specific traits.  1st card is always only zeds. I get 2 stacks of 2.

Activation dice are rolled. Humans (blue) go first and try to fast move. Your best weapons are your legs. Your worse enemy, your ego. I know as I've learned it the hard way many times.

A couple of turns in and the zeds are catching up.

Doubles for activation means draw an Event Card. The number on the dice is also the direction. The card  reveals 1 survivor. I draw a NPC character card from the unused pile. Sailor - Rep 3 Movement 3 - Pistol and Baseball Bat.

3rd d6 for NPCs is added to activation. Sailor rolls for NPC movement and heads towards Tonya and Lil. But is he a Friend or Foe? In Outbreak you don;t know but will easily find out. 

Friend and Foe Test taken. He's not hostile but not sure if he's a friend either.

Tonya and Lil move to Talk the Talk the Sailor. Tonya scores more successes and Sailor offers to join their group.

As the zeds are closing in Tonya agrees. The En counter is a success so far as she has recruited a new member to her grroup but the adventure is far from over. More to come...

ATZ - Outbreak - LnL Board Game

Just signed off on the counters for ATZ-Outbreak from LnL Publishing. I will be playing it with minis as well. Here's how:

Counters become minis.
Maps become buildings, etc.
Character cards are used.
Event cards are used (like the risk and rewards card but tweaked)
Counters for items found are kept.

Board Game rules used as is with a 1 paragraph pullout explaining how to convert.

The game mechanics play fast with the board game add ons. It blends the best of miniatures and board games...I like it!
