Red Sand Black Moon - Step by Step demo!

Step-By-Step – RSBM

In RSBM all matches are to the death. There’s a points system (gasp) that allows you to create and rate your gladiators.
There’s a Fame system to allow your gladiator to get better as he wins matches.
But the rub is, you can’t get better if you fight inferior opponents so when you fight an opponent of a lower rate you don’t gain Fame. Fortune, cashola, yes. Fame no, and that’s how your fighter gets better.
So what’s a gladiator to do when the Locale you’re fighting in gives you lower rated opponents? You make lemonade! Basically you fight more than one gladiator until their combine rate exceeds yours or you cast off your armor, choose a different weapon, etc. to drop your rating. For example, drop your armor from plate to skin and you drop 3 rating points. But we’ll go into that later. Right now let’s go with a step-by-step demo of one gladiator fighting two with a combine higher rate.
Here's a map of a portion of Talomir for reference. Note that RSBM ties directly into WHAA and RRtK. RSBM can even be substituted for combat in WHAA if wanting more detail.

Here's the link to the match in PDF form for easy reading.

Red Sand Black Moon - Bigger and Better

Bigger and better than what?
Than originally planned. RSBM will be closely tied to Warrior Heroes - Armies and Adventures, Rally Round the King and the upcoming Warrior Heroes - Legends. That and it's fully compatible with Red Sand Blue Sky our Ancient Roman Gladiator game.
Watch for it later this month!

Black Moon Brethren - RSBM AAR

The Black Moon Brethren are an Unholy Order of knights in WHAA. This is the next opponent for the Elf sword mistress. The Brethren is heavily armored, slower to maneuver but can take more damage. The two handed axe is slower to come onto the attack but more devastating if a blow is scored. He is Resolute (guaranteed one success in the Attack, Stout Hearted (+3 Bonus Dice) and a Swordsman (able to roll twice for hit location as a master of weapons).

A good run for the Elf but the lack of armor was her downfall. Overall a nail biter of a match. Armor shows its worth and also justifies its cost!

Chapter 7 - Thomas and the War Party - Long Rifle AAR

War Party

“Five, maybe six,” Blue Shirt said looking at the tracks. “Looks like their heading towards Miller’s Farm.”
“What are we going to do?”
Blue Shirt looked up at Thomas and replied. “It’s not our fight.”
Thomas turned and headed towards Miller’s Farm without saying a word. Shaking his head Blue Shirt ran to catch up.
“If we’re going to go, then follow me,” he said. “This way is quicker.”
**************************
Long Rifle is the black powder immersion game from THW centered on the French and Indian War. In Long Rifle players try and gain Fame and Fortune trapping, scouting, hunting, or soldiering with a small band of men. Think Last of the Mohicans. In Long Rifle there’s a random event scenario called War Party.
Thomas, a first time hunter/trapper has come across this scenario. Having survived a close call with French soldiers where one of his comrades was killed, Thomas and Blue Shirt, his mentor have only two months left during the hunting season when we pick up on the game.
For background on Thomas follow these links:
****************************
There are two hunter/trappers.
·        Thomas is Rep 4, Hawkeye and Lucky Bastard Attributes. Armed with musket and tomahawk.
·        Blue Shirt is Rep 5 and Quick to Quit, hence his “not out fight” attitude. Armed with musket and tomahawk.
And four Settlers.
·        James Miller is Rep 4. Armed with musket and knife.
·        Ava Miller is Rep 3. Armed with a pistol. She is trained to act as a dedicated loader.
·        Billy their male child is Rep 2. Unarmed.
·        Richard Brown, Ava’s brother, is Rep 3. Armed with musket and knife.
There are six in the War Party. They are:
·        The Leader Rep 4 trying to make a name for himself.
·        Five Rep 3 Warriors.
****************************
The game starts with the Settlers in the cabin with Thomas and Blue Shirt outside on lookout. The table is split into nine equal sections and the war party will enter through section 1, 2 or 3. Which section is that? After setup I roll 1d6 for each table edge. The high score will be sections 1, 2, and 3. In this case it’s to the rear of the cabin behind the orchard.

After the fight James and Richard recover from their wounds. Three of the Indians died including the War Chief. The other three had their weapons taken, were given water and released.
Thomas didn’t rise in Rep, again, as he had an OOF result even though he used his Star Power, so could not try. The Encounter was a Random Event and the two could go check their traps. They did and added 7 more bundles for a total of 19. It was late September and Thomas felt he should be back in school. But he and Blue Shirt went about pulling their traps. Next month they would head the trading post to sell their bundles and bed down for the winter.

Rifles & Rebels Now Shipping

“IN GREAT DEEDS SOMETHING ABIDES. ON GREAT FIELDS SOMETHING STAYS." —Joshua Chamberlain

It's July 1863 and the Army of the Potomac is holding on. Yesterday the Johnnies hit hard and the line held. Today you are the leftmost flank of the army and must not give an inch of ground.
Though dulled by the morning mist, the shrill sound of a Rebel Yell is unmistakable. The Johnnies are on the move again.

Will you hold?

Rifles & Rebels is a unit based game where units are composed of 5 to 10 figures. In Rifles & Rebels you can choose from two sides and two arms with a total of four forces. You can be:

• Union Infantry
• Confederate Infantry
• Union Cavalry
• Confederate Cavalry
Whichever you choose you must lead one or more units of men through the war, the American Civil War, fighting when needed because it's all about victory and glory, and in some cases, just survival!
The cannon are booming, the troops mustering, and the fight is coming to you. Welcome to …

RIFLES & REBELS
Rifles & Rebels uses a floating scale which allows you to count each unit as a platoon, company, or battalion. This allows you to fight large battles as well as smaller actions.
Rifles & Rebels and Muskets & Mohawks share similar mechanics with changes made to reflect the different periods.
